A Voyage Community
can also purchase extended programming as a one-time event, or on
an ongoing basis, through the National Center for Earth and Space
Science Education's Journey through the Universe initiative.
Programs are delivered by Center educators and space
scientists, and a national team of scientists and engineers representing
Earth and space science research organizations across the nation.
Journey through the Universe
programming in a single community includes:
- Classroom presentations for typically 3,000, and
up to 10,000 grade K-20 students.
- Events for public and family audiences for 200
to 2,000.
- Professional development workshops for up to 200
teachers, that can target specific grade levels, or be delivered
K-12.
- Programs for community-based organizations, e.g.,
a rotary club, retirement community, hospital, astronomy club.
